So Christmas was last week, as I’m sure you all recall. Santa brought us a wii, wii fit & rock band ~all in all a great score of gifts as far as I’m concerned. There’s another story in there but I don’t have time to go into it all right now. Perhaps at another time. [...] For the last week we’ve been helping Honey bunny with a project for school. She’s required to complete a report on the planet Saturn (her choice) which includes: 1-2 pages written by the child including a summarizing paragraph, Now, she has known [...] Well, it seemed to me to be an ordinary, run-of-the-mill sort of day, boy-o was I going to find out different. I think they have a saying for this… ignorance is bliss. So we did the usual things during the day; school, work, karate, but it was during our ride home that I got hit [...] Shocked! That’s how I felt when the dentist told me Pumpkin had a f#@%ing cavity. Dismayed. I still can’t believe it. Well, I guess I can believe it, since we haven’t always been as diligent as we could be brushing her teeth. She’s child #2, my little Pumpkin, my 3 year old. Does this mean [...] We’ve been having a slight challenge with Honey bunny telling us the truth about stuff. Even the most mundane things. Did you eat the last blueberry muffin? Have you finished your homework for today? Did you put your clean clothes away? Have you brushed your teeth yet? This morning it was about how much money [...] This is one of those, ‘I’m SO not prepared for this’ posts. I just want to bang my head on the table in frustration. She refuses to listen to my suggestions, argues with me about what the teacher wants, and just generally whines about the HORRIBLENESS of homework. Plus, she’s whining about [...] The husband and I do a fairly decent job of dividing up tasks related to the children. Well, all tasks if you get right down to it. So when he has to go out of town for any reason & for any length of time it throws the whole system out of whack. It’s not just me that feels [...] My daughter, Honey bunny, is 8 yrs old. Recently, I had a bit of an “experience” with her. Let us just say that she’s been speaking to me in a manner that I don’t care for, oh F**K it, she’s been talking back to me like there ain’t no tomorrow. All consequences be DAMNED. She [...]
